Donating Materials to the Friends
Thank you for your interest in donating books and other items to the Friends of the Ann Arbor District Library. We are now accepting donations on Tuesdays and Saturdays between 12 pm and 3 pm, no appointment necessary.
Donation drop-off is located at the loading dock of the downtown branch of the Ann Arbor District Library, located at 343 S. Fifth Ave. The loading dock is accessed through the employee parking lot located on E. William St., directly west of the University of Michigan Credit Union. If the loading dock door is closed, please ring the bell to the left of the loading dock (next to the employee entrance).
PLEASE READ THE BELOW GUIDELINES CAREFULLY TO AVOID HAVING YOUR DONATION REJECTED.
ALL DONATIONS MUST BE BAGGED OR BOXED. WE DO NOT ACCEPT LOOSE ITEMS
WE ARE NOT ACCEPTING BOXES LARGER THAN 16 1/2" X 12 1/2" X 12 1/2"
BAGS MUST BE NO LARGER THAN STANDARD GROCERY SIZED BAGS
WE ARE CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING MORE THAN FOUR BOXES OR BAGS PER TRIP AT THIS TIME

Classics and collectibles
Books on gardening, crafts, home repair and improvement, art, architecture, animals, pets, poetry, philosophy
Travel books published in the past five years
Textbooks published in the past five years
Complete audiobooks on CD with no or few scratches
Complete puzzles and board games
DVDs and CDs with no or few scratches
Like-new greeting card envelopes and cellophane (NOT greeting cards)
*published in the past 15 years
Water damaged or moldy books
Books with ripped or missing pages or covers
Books with broken spines or loose pages
Books with outdated information
Romance mass market
Travel books published more than five years ago
Textbooks published more than five years ago
Incomplete puzzles and board games
Scratched or missing DVDs and CDs
CD cases without CDs
CDs without cases and/or covers
VHS and cassette tapes
Audiobooks on cassette tape
